Acupuncture is an alternate healthcare therapy
for a variety of health and wellness challenges

Acupuncture is a natural therapy developed in China over 6000 years ago. It focuses on the energy systems of the body, called meridians. There are twelve channels of energy stretched vertically along the body.
Each meridian is concerned with specific organs and functions of the
body. The cause of disease, dysfunction or illness is a blockage in the
flow of Qi (which is the body's vital energy) in one or more of the meridians.
Acupuncture therapy focuses on clearing blockages by simulating the natural
energy flow and bringing the body back to its normal state of health.
Acupuncture utilizes small hair sized needles, which are inserted at specific
points (acupoints) to stimulate energy flow within the body. The Qi rises
to the surface so the Acupuncturist can access it. The access points (acupoints)
are on the surface of the body and allow the Acupuncturist to access the
flow of energy in the meridians. There are over 300 acupoints.
Studies have shown that Acupuncture stimulates the brain to release chemicals called endorphins. Endorphins help relieve the body from different kinds of pain, so one of the primary uses of Acupuncture is for the relief of chronic and temporary pain.
Conditions Acupuncture Can Treat:
Acupuncture is not just for the treatment of pain. It treats both the symptoms and the root of an illness and is very effective in a range of muscular, skeletal and emotional illnesses. In Western Medicine, doctors can often not diagnose a specific illness or condition even though a patient knows they are feeling ill or out of balance. Chinese Traditional Medicine focuses on the whole person and on maintaining the optimum balance of energy that creates health.
